Bully Scholarship Pixel Shader 3.0 Crash Fix | Bully has Experienced an Error

How to fix "Bully requires 32 bit display, and vertex shader model 3.0 suppport." error?

Bully Scholarship - pixel shader 3.0 problem
BULLY SCHOLARSHIP EDITION - SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS

Supported Operating Systems are:
Windows XP with Service Pack 3
Windows Vista
Minimum Hardware Requirements:
3GHz Intel Pentium 4 or AMD Athlon Processor equivalent
1 GB of RAM
8 speed DVD-ROM Drive
4.7 GB of free Hard Disk space
Either:
Nvidia GeForce 6800, or 7300 series graphics card or better
ATI Radeon X1300 graphics card or better
All Graphics Cards must have DirectX 9.0c Shader 3.0 supported
DirectX 9 compatible Stereo Sound Card

This error simply means that you will need a better 3D Graphics Card to play the Bully Scholarship Edition game. However, there is an alternate solution too, it is SwiftShader.

Just download the file and copy the d3d9.dll into the Bully Game folder (C:\Program Files\Rockstar Games\Bully Scholarship Edition). If your computer is a 32 bit computer, copy the d3d9.dll from x86 folder and from x64 if you computer is a 64 bit computer (assuming you requested for a personal version from SwiftShader Website).

Now, here is my PC Specification:
1 GB RAM
Intel 945 Chipset (has Pixel Shader 2.1)
Windows 7 Build 7600
Where the game just crashed like in the above picture, after copying the d3d9.dll (SwiftShader 3 file), it just runs fine although there is some lag in the game speed.

Bully Scholarship Edition running with SwiftShader 3
Hope it helps you. Your valuable suggestions and comments would be helpful in making this post better.

    1. SwiftShader's d3d9.dll Trick doesn't work on all PCs, maybe it's the case for you too.
It didn't work for me either when i had Windows Vista installed but worked when i tried it with Windows 7 installed.
I have also tried it in a very low end Computer with 512mb ram, intel 82845g 64mb on board video card(has pixel shader 0.0). But it didn't work because of the low specification of 82845g.

    1. I'm sorry, i can't do anything there, it's bound to be slow.

Just in case if you downloaded from one of the Blog's link (which might be a bit outdated), they make every new Version perform a bit faster than the previous one (atleast that's what they claim in their Product Page), you might want to download the latest Version from their Product page.

Other than that, you have no option But to purchase a Graphics Card to play the Games at reasonable frames per second.

    1. i haven't used Bully from Steam, but you should keep the Swiftshader DLL in the same folder as the Bully game launcher file. ie. the folder where the Bully.exe is located.
It should then start with the Swiftshader DLL instead of the d3d9.dll from the System directory ..

    1. If it does not load, please do not waste your time in it, running any program with Swiftshader will slow the program down significantly (your CPU has to do all the work of GPU at the same time) thus game would lag heavily anyway.
